GaP IN TEETH AFTER BRACES?

WOULD I STILL HAVE A GAP IN MY FRONT TEETH AFTER BRACES? (I LIKE THE GAP)

GaP IN TEETH AFTER BRACES?
If you specifically ask to keep the gap then your desire can be accomidated.
Reply:umm no because the whole point of braces is to get rid of gaps AND straighten your teeth
Reply:Hell no... i wore braces and now my teeth is prefect...its so damn nice...you should go for braces...but if u insist to keep the gap and your teeth aint that bad...dont go for braces...
Reply:no but if u did then they are purmanant
Reply:No you would not since braces are to eliminate any gaps. I guess if you talked to your ortho and told him/her you want to keep the gap, they may be able to suggest something.
Reply:gappy,

hehe no you would not.but if you want the gap don%26#039;t get braces or just get it on the bottom
Reply:it means you did not wear your retainers afterwards! it happend to me too, the teeth went back a little. i really suggest wearing your retainers, and if they dont fit, go and get them redone

you will not like the gap so much when you are older! make a smart decission and fix them now while you can, bc teeth are much harder to shift when you are older
Reply:you shouldn%26#039;t. however, it depends on how big your gap is to begin with, the room in your mouth, ect. talk to your orthodontist, they can do anything nowadays. so if you want to keep your gap, i%26#039;m sure they can do that for you.
Reply:no....

How should i fix my teeth for my discolored teeth and stained teeth form braces?
I%26#039;ve never heard of braces discoloring teeth, it is usually caused by what you eat or drink. Sometimes that is just your teeth, as you get older they get discolored naturally too.

However, an easy and inexpensive way to whiten teeth is to buy a box of baking soda (little yellow box) and put a small amount in a little dish. Take your wetted toothbrush and dip it in the baking soda, then brush the teeth. Repeat this daily and in a short time you will see a difference.

Every once in a while repeat this process when you notice them changing color again.

This method will save you a small fortune in whitners and a large fortune in vaneers. I%26#039;d also find another dentist.
Reply:I DONT KNOW
Reply:Get over-the-counter brush-on whiteners. They work if you use them every morning and night. If you brush every day, and whiten every day, in about two months your teeth will be of one color again.

A lot of this is your fault. You should have brushed every day, and took care of your braces. Your parents payed good money for you to have attractive teeth, but you didn%26#039;t take care of them. Now you have half yellow, and half white. Hopefully now you will take care of them, because you have no choice.
Reply:bleach them!
Reply:Try http://www.ProWhite-Teeth.com my wife and I have had great results with this product.
Reply:Results from tooth paste are totally insignificant the best way to whiten your teeth is by using Carbamide Peroxide, this is what dentists actually use and charge £300 per treatment.

We sell this for home use for around £20 and we also sell Laser kits. If you would like to know more please e mail me. or visit www.whitegob.com

Laser kits produce immediate results and they are inexpensive.
Reply:Get a second opinion because bleaching should be sufficient if your teeth colour was fine before.

Also was your teeth around the brackets yellow before the deband.

Good Luck

tell your parents to get the tooth checked out and dont worry, there wont be any pain :)

also, DO NOT let your cousin stab your mouth with a stick, you can get infections and even break a piece of stick and get it stuck in your braces. no weird object belongs in your mouth
Reply:Call your orthodontist!
Reply:what?
Reply:YIKES... I KNOW IT IS PAINFUL HON, GO TELL YOUR MOM IMMEDIATELY BECAAUSE IT IS FRIDAY AND YOU NEED TO GO TO THE DENTIST RIGHT AWAY.... YOU WONT NEED FALSE TEETH.... STAY CALM. Straighten teeth without braces?

I had braces when I was younger, but now that my wisdom teeth have been growing in (getting them pulled in June), they pushed the rest of my teeth, resulting in a crooked mess.

Also, thought I should mention, this isn%26#039;t about appearance. Because of the movement of my teeth, I now have a lisp, and a slight underbite that causes me to clench my teeth at night and results in pointless headaches.

Straighten teeth without braces?
you can try invisalign but it depends on your teeth whether its only like a bit they need to fix cause invisalign takes time. you should ask your orthodontist about it for advice :D
Reply:invisalign
Reply:I had the same problem. I ended up getting braces a second time after my wisdom teeth were pulled.

You can get Invisalign to straighten your teeth without braces. They make a mold of your teeth and create a series of plastic covers for your teeth which you wear over a scheduled period, eventually straightening your teeth. Invisalign is only appropriate for certain conditions, but your dentist can recommend a orthodontist for a consultation.
Reply:I listed a website below that might be able to help you out. Take care and good luck getting your problem worked out.
Reply:omg.....lmao.....for real though talk to your dentist. I wouldn%26#039;t take advice on here.

Worried about teeth after braces.?

I%26#039;m getting my braces off next week, and I%26#039;m concerned about mainly two things:

1.) Retainers.

Am I going to have to wear retainers for the rest of my life after they%26#039;re taken off? It seems like such a hassle.

2.) I%26#039;ve often...slacked off when it came to brushing my teeth. I%26#039;m terrified that I%26#039;ll come out off my officially braces-free appointment with white spots on my teeth. If so, how much while it take to clean my teeth?

Worried about teeth after braces.?
1. For retainers, it depends. You should only have to wear your top one every day and night (and take it out to eat and drink of course) for about a year. After that for another year or two you can just wear your retainer at night.

2. They will polish your teeth right after your braces come off to get rid of odd bumps. They suggest to go to your dentists soon after you get your braces off which is good to do and will help. Your orthodontist will probably do a special cleaning for you if you schedule an appointment too. But it can range from $100-$200 or more. But it%26#039;s a lot of cleaning and polishing and it%26#039;s really good. You can also get whitening strips.

Good luck!
Reply:No problem. :) Report It

Reply:You only wear your retainer for a month but for 24 hrs. After that, you only wear it during the night for like a year so its no problem. After you get you braces off, get your teeth cleaned and whitened with crest whitening strips.
Reply:I have a retainer and i had to (when i first got it) wear it all the time...then my next appointment came and now i only wear it to bed......and Sorry but ya you are going to have whitespots......and no idk how to git rid of em...thats why you should brush your teeth.....at least 3 TIMES A DAY!!!! (when you have braces) Good Luck :-} ♥
Reply:no................ some people dont even hav 2 wear them it usally lasts as long as 2-3months

Wisdom teeth and braces.?

I%26#039;m 21 and I still have my wisdom teeth. I plan on getting braces soon. Will they make me get them pulled first or can I just go ahead and get braces? My wisdom teeth don%26#039;t bother me at all.

Wisdom teeth and braces.?
No they shouldn%26#039;t because i have my braces and wisdom teeth. It depends on the Orthodontist
Reply:hi. don%26#039;t worry if the Dr wants to remove them it should be during using braces. not before or after. wait till Dr says so. good luck
Reply:Depending on whether or not your wisdom teeth are coming in straight, the need to get them pulled may be needed. My sister had braces in when she got her teeth pulled. It always depends on the person.

Good luck and get ice cream!
Reply:You can get the braces because your teeth are not bothered by the wisdom teeth.
Reply:I got braces about a month ago, and they told me that the X-rays showed that my wisdom teeth are coming in and will eventually have to come out after my orthodontist treatment because they will only be a bother but i was fine until then.

It%26#039;ll probably be fine for the time being, but like i was told, they%26#039;ll more then likely have to come out afterward.

Whitening teeth after braces come off?

Well in two weeks my braces are coming off. And i want to whiten my teeth tto make them look not only straight but pearly white. Anyways i%26#039;m wondering , how long do you have to wait after the braces come off, to whiten your teeth?

I%26#039;m pretty impatient lol. But yeah can i do it like two days later.. or how long should i wait?!

Whitening teeth after braces come off?
hi! i had braces and here%26#039;s the best way to go about cleaning/whitening them....Before you whiten them, you want to get them cleaned at the dentist so you completely get all of the stuff off of them (glue from the braces, etc) Then buy the Crest Whitening Strips and use them as directed, you have no idea as to how many compliments i get from using them....people always wow you have the perfect smile or how do u keep your teeth so white.....Hope I Helped!
Reply:omg...hahahaa that lady went crazy with the answer Report It

Reply:ask your dentist how long, i never knew you did have to wait. just call his office and ask.

Before whitening your teeth, you should find out if your teeth have thin enamel. This can cause your teeth to have a yellowish or brownish apperance. Whitening will not help in this situation and can make appearance worse and cause sensitivity.

Chewing on crunchy foods like carrots, apples and celery, is said to cause friction which helps get debris off your teeth that can stain them. There are many old natural remedies and some new natural and/or herbal products, as well as, some chemical products, all claiming to whiten teeth.

The color of teeth comes from genetics originally, and it varies person to person. Teeth will natually discolor over time due to age. The best way to keep teeth as white and you were designed to have, is to avoid foods, liquids, drugs, and products that stain teeth.

Avoid things known to stain teeth, like coffee, tea, red wine, berries, tobacco products, food colorings, etc.... Avoid direct exposure to a lot of raw lemons or citrus products like tomatos, limes, oranges, as the citric acid wears the enamel off the teeth, and when dentin is exposed (like with cavities), it can cause discoloration. If you do eat them, rinse your teeth right away. Avoid carbonated drinks that contain phosphoric acid, like coca cola for the same reason. Sports drinks often contain citric acid, phosphoric acid and organic acid (coffee contains organic acids, also). The latter two are known to break down calcium, along with breaking down enamel. Also, If you eat raw papaya or raw pineapple, rinse your mouth after eating them, as they have enzymes that can cause sores in your mouth and gums, because they break down proteins.

The antibiotic tetracycline is known to cause teeth to stain and so is fluoride and caffeine. Mercury fillings cause teeth to stain where the tooth comes in contact with the filling; This is because of galvanization. So, one should get all amalgams replaced. Gold seems to be ok as long as it is a good quality gold such as high noble, and white composites or porcelain fillings can be used.

Hydrogen peroxide can whiten teeth, but it can penetrate teeth, which are porous, and cause sensitivity. It is used in dental bleaching. It is a special 35% solution, so buying the 2% bottle of it over the counter in hopes to make your teeth white, will not work and could eventually cause sensitivity, irritation, or inflamation of the gums. Myself, I do not recommend teeth whiteners of any kind, for the same reason. If you do decide to use a teeth whitener, either over the counter or from the dentist, if you are not avoiding foods that cause staining, your teeth will stain again, and you will have wasted your money. To whiten your teeth often, will most likely cause sensitivity, enamel breakdown, and can lead to cavities. The long term effects of teeth bleaching on nerves and blood vessels inside the teeth are unknown. Laser bleaching seems to cause more problems with sensitivity than non-laser bleaching. Bleaching does not work on false teeth, crowns, veneers or fillings (even white ones). You may opt to replace those with lighter shades if you don%26#039;t like the color. Bleaching is not recommended for children whose teeth are still developing or for pregnant or breastfeeding women.

It is important to brush after meals to avoid plaque and tartar build up, which can also cause discoloration. Avoid toothpastes that contain abrasives to fight plaque and tarter, as they can wear away enamel and make the dentin show through (which has a yellowish or brownish tint), which can cause staining, or cavities or cause your teeth to appear brown or yellow. Also, avoid brushing too hard for the same reason. If you do consume products that cause staining, use water to rinse your mouth directly afterward.

There is a technique called internal bleaching. The only way it can be done is to have a root canal, and root canals cause devastating health effects and should be avoided altogether.

The British Dental Association has expressed concern that the smokers%26#039; whitening toothpastes Clinomyn and Pearl Drops are too abrasive. Many whitening toothpastes contain titanium dioxide, a suspected carcinogen and can be absorbed by the skin, and, when the effluent containing it is discharged from manufacturers, it acidifies rivers and seas.

Smokers toothpaste, Topol, containing an abrasive form of silica to remove heavy stains from tar and resin deposits can cause damage to cementum and dentin in people with gingival recession, resulting root exposure.

Tooth whitening actually requires modifying the intrinsic tooth color, chemically alterating the chromophores within the tooth. Whitening toothpastes using bicarbonate, alumina and polyphosphates cannot whiten teeth; All they can do is contribute to stain removal. Whitening requires bleaching or enzymatic disruption.

Acid penetration and dissolution has not been an acceptable method of whitening for nearly a century.

Many products claim whitening ability with various peroxides -- hydrogen, calcium or carbamide. For over-the-counter peroxide content is kept low. It has effervescence and maybe some short-lived bleaching because peroxide is rapidly broken down by oral enzymes from bacteria and saliva. Gels stay on longer, but must be used with a tray to work. Only whitening products used by dentists have ADA acceptance. Over-the-counter product manufacturers have never attempted such claims.

A product called NatureWhite contains carbamide peroxide is supposed to whiten your teeth dramatically with just one 45 Minute application. It is said to be the same thing that dentists use and that dentists use a 12% solution while NatureWhite uses a 22% solution. Crest white strips, by comparison, have a 3% solution.

Before whitening your teeth, you should find out if your teeth have thin enamel. This can cause your teeth to have a yellowish or brownish apperance. Whitening will not help in this situation and can make appearance worse and cause sensitivity.

There are herbs that have been used throughout history to whiten teeth. Sage boiled in water to make tea was said to strengthen gums and whiten teeth. During the middle ages, powdered mint leaves were used to whiten teeth. Charcoal was touted as the best powder to use for whitening teeth, removing tartar and preventing decay. Other common ingredients in tooth powders included: cream of tartar, camphor, white castile soap powder, cuttle fish bone, precipitated chalk, powdered borax, powdered gum myrrh, powdered orris root, and talc. The majority of these ingredients cleaned and whitened teeth.

Here are some other natural remedies :

Take a teaspoon of lemon juice and a tsp of salt. Make a paste. Apply this on the yellowish tint.

Use the inner white part of an orange peel to rub teeth for a lovely white shine.

Take half teaspoon of bi-carbonate of soda mixed with a little water to form a paste. Rub this on your teeth.

Dried %26amp; powdered Bay leaves combined with dried orange peel is an excellent whitener.

Strawberries, oddly enough are said to have cleansing and bleaching properties that can help remove of tea and coffee stains, especially from dentures. Crush the strawberries gently and rub the pulp onto your teeth. Rinse with water.

There are some new tooth pastes and products with Bromaine Complex, a combination of the natural enzymes, Bromelaine from pineapple, and Papain from papaya, said to be clinically proven to whiten teeth.

Dentizyme is an herbal remedy; it consists of a unique blend of bio-active plant enzymes, organic botanicals, rainforest botanicals, and essential oils. Dentizyme users report fewer or no gum disease symptoms, they also report that their gums look pinker and healthier along with excellent teeth whitening results and teeth stains are said to disappear entirely with continued use of this herbal extract.

here is some info on zoom:

Price is $500 to $675

How does Zoom teeth whitening work?

This method consists of a mixture of gel and special light wave treatments. The patient is seated and the dentist uses a retractor to separate the lips from the teeth so that the gel can be applied. A special gel is then applied on all the exterior faces of the teeth. The dentist is careful, at this point, not to let the gel touch the patient’s gums too much, as it may cause irritation or lesions.

How long does it last and what effects can I expect?

The answers to the questions are different from one person to another. In most cases, a Zoom teeth whitening procedure is done twice a year. An average person who drinks coffee frequently and smokes daily will have improved tooth brightness - around 10 shades brighter. After the procedure is completed, the teeth will gradually start to regain their yellowish color over time, depending on how well you take care of them. On average, people who went through in office tooth whitening procedures noticed that their teeth stay white for months, although the initial brightness does not last more than a few weeks.
