Worried about teeth after braces.?

I%26#039;m getting my braces off next week, and I%26#039;m concerned about mainly two things:





1.) Retainers.





Am I going to have to wear retainers for the rest of my life after they%26#039;re taken off? It seems like such a hassle.





2.) I%26#039;ve often...slacked off when it came to brushing my teeth. I%26#039;m terrified that I%26#039;ll come out off my officially braces-free appointment with white spots on my teeth. If so, how much while it take to clean my teeth?

1. For retainers, it depends. You should only have to wear your top one every day and night (and take it out to eat and drink of course) for about a year. After that for another year or two you can just wear your retainer at night.





2. They will polish your teeth right after your braces come off to get rid of odd bumps. They suggest to go to your dentists soon after you get your braces off which is good to do and will help. Your orthodontist will probably do a special cleaning for you if you schedule an appointment too. But it can range from $100-$200 or more. But it%26#039;s a lot of cleaning and polishing and it%26#039;s really good. You can also get whitening strips.

Reply:You only wear your retainer for a month but for 24 hrs. After that, you only wear it during the night for like a year so its no problem. After you get you braces off, get your teeth cleaned and whitened with crest whitening strips.
Reply:I have a retainer and i had to (when i first got it) wear it all the time...then my next appointment came and now i only wear it to bed......and Sorry but ya you are going to have whitespots......and no idk how to git rid of em...thats why you should brush your teeth.....at least 3 TIMES A DAY!!!!
