I just had my braces so when can i start to brush my teeth?

and how do i brush my teeth with braces?

I just had my braces so when can i start to brush my teeth?
Brush your teeth with a soft small head tooth brush or electric. It may be helpful to use a pre-rinse to loosen particles. No need to wait to start brushing -- if they hurt just brush gently. Be prepared with gum wax that you stick on your braces because they can rub against the inside of your mouth and cause soreness.
Reply:right away i guess
Reply:oh, you should have put the question to your dentist before he put you on the braces!

don%26#039;t you worry. you can jolly well not brush your teeth for some days :)))))))))))))))))))

Would the Crest Premium Whitestrips remove white stains on your teeth after braces?

I recently got my braces off, but now i have white stains on my teeth. Do you know if the Crest Whitestrips can remove them?

Would the Crest Premium Whitestrips remove white stains on your teeth after braces?
The %26quot;white%26quot; marks are caused by something different then regular staining from Colas and Coffee. I don%26#039;t think they will work, and may actually be bad for you causing tooth sensitivity in your case. The white marks are caused by enamel decalcification.

I recommend that you see a cosmetic dentist who can advise you on that situation.
Reply:your best bet is to see the dentist. have your teeth cleaned and checked proffesionally.
Reply:my daughter%26#039;s orthodontist recommended a regular dental cleaning, waiting a month, then using crest premium whitestrips exactly as directed. i couldn%26#039;t notice any difference at all when she was done.

Braces with baby teeth?

I am 13 and getting braces this summer, around June. Or getting my evaluation at least. I have 14 baby teeth, but 2 of them are taking the places of the adult teeth since they aren%26#039;t there. So I have to get 12 teeth pulled, or just out gradually.

Will the Orthodontist/Dentist have to take out my baby teeth before I get my braces?

Or when they loosen on their own will he pull them out then and just make sure they grow in straight?

Or just what exactly?

Braces with baby teeth?
they will pull them... ouch
Reply:well i do have a question before i answer your question.did you already speak to the dentist or do you just think your getting braces this summer?

Braces before wisdom teeth?

Can I get braces before I get my wisdom teeth pulled?

I am 18 and the bottom wisdom teeth are growing in but not really the top ones.

Would it be ok to get braces and then get my wisdom teeth pulled while I have braces?

I would think it would be better to get the wisdoms pulled first so that the teeth have room to spread out because I have crowded teeth.

Let me know Dentist and give me more than just %26quot;that is really up to your Dentist%26quot;

Thanks

Braces before wisdom teeth?
in this case your dentist will need to take an x-ray of your mouth( a Pan) to see how far along your teeth actually are, usually all dental procedures (fillings, extractions, infections) must be taken care of before you get braces.
Reply:Yea, I got mine out not too long ago and it doesnt matter whether or not you have braces on.
Reply:Just wait for your wisdom teeth to pull out!
Reply:I got my braces before my wisdom teeth started showing up and they caused no problems. But, I also got my wisdom teeth pulled before they came in--they were becoming impacted.
Reply:No it is not up to the dentist. Use your head. 1 + 1 = 2
Reply:thats really up to your dent-- oh, nevermind
Reply:ur teeth wont %26#039;spread out%26#039; once ur wisdom teeth are gone. Although i do think its better to get them out before braces or soon after braces. I had mine off for 2 yrs before my wisdom teeth started to come thru. It moved all my teeth and i had to get the braces back on for a year. Not fun!
Reply:I had my wisdom teeth pulled a month or 2 before I got braces. I think it%26#039;s common sense to do it that way -- your wisdom teeth would otherwise just interfere with the braces and if you never got them pulled then they would just make your teeth crooked again. Also with braces in your mouth, I think that the trauma of having your wisdom teeth pulled would be too much and probably staunch the healing process.
Reply:i would get the wisdom teeth pulled or taken care of first. They are very large teeth and often come in crooked or impacted like mine did. I had mine removed at age 30! To put braces and then mess with the wisdom teeth would be backwards to me. If your teeth are crowded now, they will be worse when those wisdoms finally erupt or do what they are going to do.

Sorry it%26#039;s so tiny, but as you can see I have buck teeth and my bottom teeth are so crooked. I%26#039;m so embarassed to smile, I%26#039;m 14 and I really need braces but I will look horrible like this in high school and college. Do those inivisible braces work?

They should be free with the NHS.

normal braces are about $5000 ! They do only stay on for 2 years.. so for beautiful teeth, 700 days isn%26#039;t that long!

Your parents could get 60% if they get a discount benefits plan..while you have the braces..

at the website it%26#039;s under dental plus.. have your parents look at it and if they let you get braces, show them how much they can save and they%26#039;ll be even happier!
Reply:I heard those are way more expensive then the regular kind . Sometimes , braces don%26#039;t even stay on for that long . What%26#039;s wrong with the regular braces ? It depends where you go to .
Reply:I know your problem, I was in the exact same position as you when I was 13. I had to get braces.

My teeth were not very nic, and I never smiled because I was afraid that people might laugh at me. And I didn%26#039;t exactly smile much more with the braces on.

But two years later, I was able to get them off, and from that day on I felt more secure about myself. I could smile without the constant fear of someone silently laughing at me.

So, at least for me, the braces was worth it in the end!
Reply:Hey girl, im 14 too, but i don%26#039;t have teeth problems. I smile a whole lot, like i cant go 10 without smiling and laughing...but girl, don%26#039;t be embarrassed about it. everybody has things they are embarrassed about. like, im 6ft tall, and like soo much taller than everyone else in my class...the people who love you won%26#039;t care if you have pretty teeth or not:) A boy in my class has those invisible braces though, so go ahead and try it! good luck to you!! let me know how things turn out!
Reply:Oh dear. you should be proud of your own cute teeth. In fact, i have buck teeth and i felt so disgusted whenever i smile. Because my side view could see how the buck teeth would protrude out. But eventually, it doesn%26#039;t matter as much. You%26#039;re who u are. And beauty is skin-deep.

If you really are keen to get braces, get normal braces. You won%26#039;t look ugly so long you have the confidence.. :D

Good luck, my dearr!
Reply:I don%26#039;t know how expensive they will be, because I%26#039;m from another country. After much deliberation over the years, I finally got them done when I was 18 because I could no longer stand the way my teeth looked. Not so good because I entered college with my braces on. So yeah, do get them done as early as possible! You%26#039;ll survive, it even gets fun picking the colors; you could make it your fashion statement.

You%26#039;re only 14, I don%26#039;t think you need to be so worried about your having braces on, they%26#039;re pretty common aren%26#039;t they? I was worried initially too, about how ugly it might look, but I soon got over it after I saw lots of other people my age (or even older) wearing braces.

I don%26#039;t know much about the invisible braces, but I hear they take slightly longer than the regular braces to push the teeth back into place, plus they cost a whole lot more. Also, please get it done by an expert (forgot the medical term for it) and not just any regular dentist. I had mine on for just 1.5 years done by a pro, but my sis had hers on for close to 4 years done by those normal dentists.
Reply:Talk to your dentist he will give you the information that you need. And let me tell you this is my opinion, but I think it is a good one. I find most girls who have braces to be quite attractive. It also tells me that they care about their personal appearance. The end result will be worth the price!! Find a good orthodontist!!

I keep getting food stuck in between my teeth with braces and its hard to get out...?

I have braces(i got them exactly a month ago)and the gap between my two front teeth is closing, but something I%26#039;m not satisifed with, is whenever I eat something at school or anywhere, food is so hard to get out. And I leave that cleaner pick thing at home, and I have to go through 2 1/2 of having food stuck in between my teeth. How can I prevent this from happening? Its bothering me a lot.

This is an easy one! Stop eating!

do you smother your teeth with your food before you eat?

equip yourself with a fork and knife everywhere you go and chew with your back teeth.

it%26#039;s a life saver
Reply:get a re-chargeable toothbrush and carry it in your bag
Reply:avoid eating foods that will penetrate in your braces. Go for liquids and solid yet compact foods.

I use them as a floss, and one of my friends, who has dental implants, uses them to clean between the implants. They aren%26#039;t expensive, are very small, and very efficient. You can even use tooth paste with them. Go get some.
Reply:Yeah, this is the worst!! Unfortunately, there%26#039;s not alot you can do about it...it%26#039;s part of having braces. But Sephora makes a great travel toothbrush kit with the cleaner pics in it. Even when I was done with those pics...I just stuck in refills from home. You end up having to brush more with braces to remove %26#039;stuck%26#039; food (yuck).

Reply:not eating lunch was a bad sugestion. Look through your lunch. Items such as clemintines might not be the best choice. Sadly, there really isn%26#039;t much you can do about this. Try to keep a pick or something at hand and eat foods that aren%26#039;t %26quot;stringy%26quot;. Such as a sandwhich, prezels, and an apple or banana. as your gap closes it will get better. I also had brases for 2.5 years. and after the first half year I didn%26#039;t have so much of a problem. So just keep doing your best and they will come off sooner. you%26#039;ll be so happy with your perfect teeth!

How long does it take to see a difference in my teeth from braces?

im getting braces this month in 23 days on july 24th. on the top and bottom. and i want to know how long it takes to see a difference in your teeth after they are applied. on the top i have a large space in my two front teeth other wise they are pretty straight. on the bottom i have straight teeth except for like 3 of them that are slightley turned sideways but there not that bad. i didnt have any teeth extracted and i have all my grown up teeth in so how long before i start to see a difference in the gap????

How long does it take to see a difference in my teeth from braces?
It is amazing how fast some teeth move. I%26#039;ve seen it first hand over the years. The problem is not how fast they move, but how long they let the braces stay on your teeth. You need to let the bone rebuild around the teeth after the movement takes place. This is critical for avoiding bone loss problems later on and relapse. Adult orthodontics requires longer than adolescence because the bone is more dense. The gap in your front teeth can repair itself, but be warned if they don%26#039;t remove the sometimes large papilla between the two front teeth, it can push it right back out. Ask them if you will need that tissue removed. Its either that or a small wire can be placed behind your 2 front teeth just like what they put on the lower ones. Good luck. Don%26#039;t forget to take some Ibuprofen prior to and after your first appointment...You will have soreness.

If i brush my teeth to much..can i get white spots on my teeth from braces??

i brush my teeth about 4 times a day..and i got my braces on about 3 months ago and i noticed white spots on my two front teeth..why is that?

If i brush my teeth to much..can i get white spots on my teeth from braces??
White spots may develop from the acid etch that is used to roughen the tooth surface so the bonding material will adhere to the tooth when they cement your braces on.

Or white spots are demineralization of the tooth enamel.

Ask your Dentist or Dental Hygienist for a prescription strength Fluoride you can brush on your teeth everyday to prevent this from occurring

In the meantime pick up some ACT fluoride rinse you can find in the toothpaste isle.

Fluoride incorporates itself into the enamel to make it stronger and remineralizes the weak spots thus preventing the white spots.
Reply:Im not to sure..Should ask your dentist when you next go!

If you dont brush your teeth properly %26amp; enough times through the day food can get stuck round your brace %26amp; when they remove it you can end up with brown marks etc..I had a brace on when i was 13 for 8months and burshed mine everytime i had food and when i woke up %26amp; went bed %26amp; mine where fine
Reply:It is probably plaque. But i did hear that if you brush your teeth too much it can fade your teeth, Check with your dentist.
Reply:I also have white spots on my two front teeth. They developed while I had braces. I asked the dentist and I was told that it had something to do with the metal brackets and the way the calcium deposited around them in my teeth. That didn%26#039;t make any sense to me. However, that is what I was told by the dentist. I hate those spots. I am sure no one notices them but it still makes me self conscious about my smile. Hope this helps! :)
Reply:Toothpaste is very abrasive. If you are brushing your teeth a lot, try only using toothpaste only once a day. The rest of the time, just brush them with plain water.

Overbrushing can actually wear the enamel off your teeth when you use toothpaste. Once it%26#039;s gone, it%26#039;s gone. Then you will start having all kinds of problems like tooth sensitivity to hot and cold and you will get cavities more easily.

As for the white spots, I would ask your orthodontist. Tell them that they bother you.

Can they fix a gap in my front teeth without braces?

i had braces for almost four years. they have been off for almost five years now. however, i have started to get a gap in my front teeth. my retainer broke a couple years ago. it isnt big, but still bothers me. i do not want braces back on!

Can they fix a gap in my front teeth without braces?
Easiest way is for them to make you a new retainer to help close that gap slightly/prevent it from getting better. They can place veneers over the front two teeth, they place these by grinding the enamel down slightly and then cementing these porcelain facings on the front they just make them a little wider to fill the gap. The bad thing is this would be permanent and you would never be able to go without veneers or crowns on these teeth. They could also bond some filling material into the gap which would still involve possibly some permanent grinding, ust less. Your best bet is a new retainer to wear at night to close the gap.
Reply:Yeah, you can stick some chicklets gum in bewteen them..
Reply:how about porcelain veneers? i have them to cover up a fillings on my front teeth. they aren%26#039;t cheap but they look nice and they are a quick way to fix problems.
Reply:they could put veneers on, which is kind of like a crown. The downside is that you lose some of your natural tooth, which is not good, and your teeth will probably continue to shift over time. I believe, if the movement is minimal, they could fit you with a new retainer that may correct the movement, but I cannot say for sure without actually seeing your teeth. call your dentist and ask......good luck.
Reply:If you don%26#039;t want to go the braces route again or if you don%26#039;t want to do veneers or crowns to close the gap I have seen orthodontists put a small bar/wire behind the 2 front teeth. I don%26#039;t know if they can close it for you by using a retainer first or if it would require braces to close. You would need a consultant to answer that. Something you may not realize you are doing is clenching or grinding your teeth. Most do it during sleeptime, but some do this even while awake. You can use a sleep appliance that will keep you from Bruxing (clench/grind). There are some that would fit your whole arch (that would act like a retainer too) or there is a new one called the NTI that fits just onto the 2 top teeth either top or bottom. It is small and easy to wear and it keeps your back teeth apart so you can%26#039;t clench. Not sure if this helped you decide, but just wanted to let you know.....grinding/clenching will move your teeth around over the years. Good luck.

Questions about braces and wisdom teeth, please help!?

i just had braces put on last week and my orthodontist said i would need to have my wisdom teeth on my lower jaw extracted when they come through the gum cos they%26#039;re growing sideways. my question is, is it really necessary? i%26#039;m also afraid that they will be embedded in the gum. how would i know if and when they come through the gum? would i feel pain? even if i don%26#039;t feel any pain, would i still need to have them extracted? another question is, am i making a mistake of wearing braces now as my wisdom teeth are not fully grown yet? i%26#039;m afraid the wisdom teeth will affect the straightening process.... the wisdom teeth on my upper jaw have come through the gum but not fully developed. i could feel one of them not being aligned with the rest of the teeth. no bracket has been placed on that tooth. will that tooth be aligned with the rest of my teeth? and if so, what would be done? i wonder if i would have 2 wear braces much longer just because i have 2 wait 4 my wisdom teeth to fully grow??

Questions about braces and wisdom teeth, please help!?
Yes, it%26#039;s necessary. Your wisdom teeth may grow in straight, but the roots are not. They will mess up your teeth after your braces come off and you%26#039;ll have to do it all over again. As long as you never eat anything they tell you not to, and your braces don%26#039;t mess up, you%26#039;ll be fine. I have all 4 of my wisdom teeth and I%26#039;ve had my braces for 6 months now. My orthodontist told me that afterwards they will pull my wisdom teeth, and as long as I wear my retainer like I%26#039;m supposed to, then my teeth will be fine. You won%26#039;t have to wear your braces longer because of wisdom teeth. Many people don%26#039;t get theirs til later in life, but some get them earlier.
Reply:the wisdom teeth will need to come out for two reasons:

1 they will push your straightened teeth out of alignment if not removed.

2 they will cause discomfort to you because they are what is called %26quot;impacted%26quot; (not growing in straight and correct)

You will know when those teeth come in because you will experience soreness and tenderness in your gums in that area. If they are growing sideways, you will also feel them scraping your cheeks possibly. Since you are on a long term dental care plan (orthodontic care will last at least 4 years after removal of braces) your orthodontist will monitor the growth of your wisdom teeth and have them removed at the proper time. This will also ensure that what work has been done to straighten your teeth will not be ruined by these teeth coming in.

Be proud, take care of your teeth and hang in there, it%26#039;s all worht it for the beautiful smile you will have in no time!!!

Getting Rid of gap between front teeth WITHOUT braces?

I have a small (but very noticeable) gap between my 2 front teeth, and i want to get rid of it badly, is there a way to do so withough braces though? because i am already in grade 11 and everyone is getting theirs off if anything.

Getting Rid of gap between front teeth WITHOUT braces?
Sure you can. There%26#039;s a procedure called diastema closure (space closure). Your dentist will just recontour your your two front teeth using composite materials which matches the shade of your teeth and create a slightly wider teeth to close the space. You can see the result as soon as you leave the dental clinic. If that%26#039;s the only problem, then you can go for this procedure instead of wearing braces.
Reply:Porcelain Veneers, i had the same problem, but with my 4 front teeth, now they look fantastic!! Just shop around for a quote, mine were AU$500 per tooth.

Goodluck.

Is there a way to get straighter teeth without braces?

because i have like 2 teeth that r crooked and braces cost too much to just fix 2 teeth....

Is there a way to get straighter teeth without braces?
The obvious answer is Invisalign, but they typically costs the same as the traditional metal braces, so that does not help with your question.

You should check with a cosmetic dentist, if it is merely %26quot;2 teeth that r crooked%26quot;, then maybe check into enamel re-contouring, where the dentist shapes the teeth so they appear different, if they are more out of position, you can check into %26quot;bonding%26quot;, where the dentist puts some white filling material (Composite) to make it look like it is in a different position. It is hard to tell without looking at your teeth but your dentist should give you some different options.

Is there a way to whiten teeth w/ braces??

i have braces, but i still wanna whiten my teeth, is this possible, at all

Is there a way to whiten teeth w/ braces??
strips wouldn%26#039;t work. i%26#039;d say not too because when you take the braces off you%26#039;ll have dull spots and marks. just wait till you get them taken off to whiten them. worked for me [=
Reply:I never heard of any but I suggest that you should you wait until you get your braces off to get an even color?
Reply:I wouldnt because it will jack em up.......i had braces and no.....dont do it...WAIT UNTIL YOU GET THEM OFF!
Reply:I don%26#039;t think you would too, because when you get your braces off, most of your teeth would be white, but you would have little yellow spots in the middle from where your braces used to be. So I wouldn%26#039;t recommend whitening with braces!

Do braces help crooked teeth?

If you have %26#039;goofy%26#039; teeth that stick out a bit from the front of your mouth and the teeth are quite crooked and bent will braces help in pushing teeth back into the mouth and level them out? Braces here are free on British NHS to anyone under 16 years of age but is it worth getting braces if they cannot help pushed out and crooked teeth? Thanks for reading please answer.

Do braces help crooked teeth?
yes it will pull you teeth in and straighten them out. my friends teeth stuck out and she had a gap and it pulled them in and fixed the gap. She had them put on and in about 3 weeks they had already pulled down and straightened out but she has to wear them for like 2 years. but it was very shocking to see how fast it fixed them. you should get them you will be very happy and glad you did.
Reply:Braces will help correct buck teeth or plain old crooked teeth. Plan on having them for a couple of years though.. Go for it.
Reply:yes beraces do help crooked teeth because they are made to move slowly and gently make your teeth go back to being straight
Reply:braces will definitely straighten your teeth my best friend had really cricked teeth and she got braces. Now she has perfectely straight teeth. So yeah the point of braces is to straighten crooked teeth.
Reply:Of course they do.
Reply:They will fix anything! My friend had the WORST teeth, and they are now picture perfect from braces. I would go for it.

How do you clean your teeth with fixed braces on???
Flossing %26amp; Brushing Tips

To floss your teeth, feed the short end of the floss through the space between the main arch wire and the upper portion of the tooth closest to the gum. Use a gentle sawing motion to work the floss on each side of the two teeth the floss is between. Be careful not to pull with too much force around the arch wire. Begin brushing your teeth by using a regular soft toothbrush. Brush down from the top and then up from the bottom on each tooth with braces. Next, brush your teeth with a proxabrush or %26quot;Christmas tree%26quot; brush. This brush is specially designed for cleaning between two braces. Insert the brush down from the top and then up from the bottom between two braces. Use several strokes in each direction before moving on to the next space between two braces. Repeat the procedure until all teeth have been cleaned.

I hope it helps you (:

How do u floss your teeth with braces on?

i mean, the wires are all on and the floss cant pass through those wires like how one can withput braces on. then how do you clean the spaces between each teeth?

How do u floss your teeth with braces on?
Use a floss threader. It%26#039;s a flexible plastic loop. Looks like a tiny noose, lol. You put your floss in the loop, stick the straight side through your wire and pull through. It%26#039;ll pull the floss through for easier flossing. They sell it at any drugstore or your Ortho may have them. In the beginning, it might take a little longer but after a while, it gets easy. A Waterpik is another option. But my Ortho said it shouldnt%26#039; replace manual flossing. I use to use it after meals but floss once per day. Good luck!
Reply:use disposable teeth flossers
Reply:You stick the floss under the bracket, and pull is through the space between your teeth to floss.
Reply:It takes a little bit of time, but flossing is an absolute must - especially when you have braces. This is because you have a higher risk for your gums becoming inflammed (food trap, teeth shifting, etc.) and also a higher risk for cavities (difficulty cleaning around braces).

Go to your nearest CVS or Walgreens and purchase for %26quot;floss threaders.%26quot; Or you can order the %26quot;FlossFish Flossing Tool%26quot; on their website:

http://www.dentakit.com/flfltoforbr.html

There is an instructional video as well!
Reply:Ask for those special brushes with spikes on the end

they work
Reply:Try using a Waterpik Flosser the little plastic tip goes between the teeth under the brackets and wires - cost about $10. The Oral B Hummingbird with the Stimudent type tip would also work but is somewhat thicker than the Flosser tips.
Reply:there are these little things you can buy them in the dental aisle in your local grocery store or whatever and there is a whole you stick the floss through there then in between the wires pull till you get the floss push down and repeat.
Reply:You can do it. But you have to go out and buy special floss that has a stiff end. Precut strips of floss that have 1 end a little stiff and you are then able to pull it through around the braces. I suggest Glide brand threaded floss.

HELP with stains on my teeth after braces?

okay, so i just had my braces taken off today, and on three of my front teeth i had little white stops, and i dont know how to get rid of them. but i would really love to not have them there because im still in high school and it is kinda embarressing. so if you have any ideas..please im desperate. :)

HELP with stains on my teeth after braces?
My orthodontist told me to use a floride rinse.
Reply:that%26#039;s a sign that you didn%26#039;t really brush as well as you were supposed to. The only thing I really think you can do is... bleaching to try to even out the color ... or a less expensive route, whitening strips...
Reply:Sorry - they%26#039;re permanent. They happen when you don%26#039;t brush your teeth correctly and plaque and whatnot collects around the brackets. Whitening your teeth will make the spots blend in more, but that%26#039;s really all you can do...

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
Reply:i had my braces on for a verrryy long time and brushed well some teeth are just more prone to stains. i used crest white strips and they did the job wonderfully in later years i now use the bleach from my dentist but that shouldnt be necessary for just a couple teeth with staining. hope this helps congrats on a beautiful braces free smile!
Reply:Sorry to say, your going to have those stains forever.

Thats why people like us use a tooth brush and toothpaste.

Braces for lower teeth only?

Is it possible just to get braces for your lower teeth? My upper teeth are all straight, but my lower front teeth are crooked, so i want to get braces on the lower teeth only.

ive read on a FAQ on some dentist website, that without getting braces on both arches it wont be possible to achieve an ideal bite. Ive never had braces before and dont mind the way my bite is now, but will it change if i do get lower arch braces?

also, is there any other problems that these braces could cause?

Braces for lower teeth only?
i had braces just on my bottom teeth for a few months beoause my botton were wayyy worse than my top, and nothing noticibly extreme happened, i would ask your orthodontist about it, at my place the first visit is free for consultation or w/e. I don%26#039;t think anything will happen to much, depending on how liong you%26#039;ll need your bottom ones on for.

Good luck :-B
Reply:You can get them for just the top or just the bottom. It%26#039;s not as uncommon as you might think! Next time you visit your dentist mention it to him/her. Usually they will refer you to an orthodontist who will take a look at your teeth and decide the best thing to do. If your teeth aren%26#039;t super crooked, often they%26#039;ll tell you it isn%26#039;t worth the time and money. But if you really want your bottom teeth straighter, don%26#039;t take no for an answer! Everyone has different teeth, the work done, outcome and experience is different for everyone.

Is there anything to straighten teeth besides braces?

I have an overbight and can`t stand it! But, I don`t want braces and don`t need them because my teeth are straight I just don`t like the overbight. Is there anything, like something I can wear at night, to fix this?

Is there anything to straighten teeth besides braces?
is that the same as an open bite i ahve one too and i was wondering about the same thing..no i dont think so
Reply:Invisaline a new product most dentist would know about. I think that the name.
Reply:Besides for surgery, I%26#039;d say braces is the only way to fix it. They aren%26#039;t just for straightening teeth, you know. Fixing an overbite or an underbite can only be done with orthodontic appliances or surgery as far as I know.
Reply:This really depends on a lot of factors. Your teeth may be straight, but it sounds like your bite has problems. There are retainer-like appliances that you can wear instead of braces, but they work only under certain conditions. If your overbite is really severe, braces may be your only alternative. I%26#039;m not sure if Invisalign could really help with that -- it%26#039;s not a strong point for that system.

The best thing you could do is have a free consultation with an orthodontist or two to discuss your alternatives.

How can you whiten your teeth WITH BRACES ON???

i really need suggestions my teeth are dingy and i have braces but i really want them white what can i do?

How can you whiten your teeth WITH BRACES ON???
brush you teeth in a circular motion.

they probably look less white because of the braces. but i had them, and when they came off, my teeth were waaaaaaaaay white.

so the same may happen to you

don%26#039;t worry about it
Reply:you really do not want to whiten your teeth with braces, or you will have little squares on your teeth afterwards! brush often, and floss!
Reply:speak w/your dentist and orthodontist. good hygiene is very important, but more so with braces.
Reply:My teeth actually got whiter while wearing braces. The brackets protected my enamel. I%26#039;d just brush the braces as best as possible for 2 minutes until then.

I just had my braces, any tips to give me for taking care of my teeth and my braces?

How do i take of care of my teeth and braces? My dentist gave me a kit with a special toothbrush, some wax, floss, tablets(to chew so that it would stain all the plaque on my teeth color red) and %26quot;rincinol%26quot;... should I always use those things every after I eat? any tips that could help? detailed tips would be greatly appreciated..

I just had my braces, any tips to give me for taking care of my teeth and my braces?
just be sure to rinse really well when you do brush your teeth %26amp; such, and use a water pick. it gets messy but it worked for me! the wax didnt help so much, it just bunched up on its own and i ended up swallowing some (i don%26#039;t reccomend it). but it is most important to rinse %26amp; make sure you brush behind the wires %26amp; brackets because if food stays back there, there will be a gross stain on your teeth when the braces come off.
Reply:I am 31 now but when I was 15 my mother so graciously gave me braces. All I did was brush after EVERY meal and that keep them clean. (hint: eat something hard, cereal, the first couple of days after tightning. It will hurt but will get you teeth use to eat hard foods faster.)
Reply:Dont bite anything hard because it will really hurt and your braces might fall out, when you bite something hard. Follow everything your dentist tells you to do, it will really help a lot. You should always use the things the dentist gave to you because it will ease the pain and make your teeth healthy and beautiful in the end.

Yes, research Invisalign in your area. You get a different tray for your teeth every two weeks. That%26#039;s what I did and it worked well.

How do you whiten teeth with braces on?

My teeth are a little yellow, and I have braces. After I get them off, my mom is going to get them laser whitened, but I can%26#039;t wait that long! how do I whiten them before, without making the color uneven?

How do you whiten teeth with braces on?
DON%26#039;T DO IT! Wait until you have a retainer. There are retainers that are designed so that they can double as whitening gel trays. I have stained teeth because I used whitening toothpaste and it%26#039;s really embarrassing.
Reply:try using whitening toothpaste lyke arm an hammer, colgate or crest
Reply:BRUSH WITH BAKING SODA AND RUBING ACHOHOL,IT MAY NOT TASTE GREAT BUT ITLL DO THE JOB GREAT
Reply:REMOVE YOUR BRACES!! DUH!!!
Reply:Try using a whitening toothpaste, that should work. And do not try that answer about the rubbing alcohol- it%26#039;s usually made poisonous so people can%26#039;t buy it and get drunk. No offense to them, but yeah... bad idea. If you just use some good toothpaste and brush regularly, that should definitely cut down on the yellow and you should have fairly white teeth until you get them off. I suggest Arm %26amp; Hammer or Crest Whitening Toothpaste.
Reply:Don%26#039;t use any whitening product except toothpaste until you get your braces off, otherwise you%26#039;ll be able to tell exactly where the braces were and need some serious whitening! Just brush after every meal like your orthodontist said and use one of those soft bristle dental brushes to clean between the wires/teeth.

Be patient, many of us before you have gone through the %26quot;tinsel teeth years%26quot; and lived to smile about it. I think it%26#039;s great that your mom has given you a great incentive to get through this time.
Reply:try the whitning that comes with a brush that you can jus brush on.... i am not sure if it works or not but it is jus a suggestion
Reply:Try some Crest Pro Whitening toothpaste.

I had the same problem.

Earlier when there was no proper treatment introduced in dentistry only dentures was the answer for tooth decay. But now dentistry has advanced so rapidly that almost every tooth problem has a solution.

Prosthodontics deals with the replacement of teeth by fixing crows, bridges and dentures. A new technique has been introduced named as cosmetic dentistry that aims to add a glow to the teeth by making it shinier and whiter. It is obvious that when your teeth look beautiful it directly reflects in your smile and enhances your personality.

There are different procedures to beautify your teeth.

Bleaching is one of the procedures to whiten the layers of your

teeth by using bleaching agents. There are trays that are loaded with these agents and they are fixed to the teeth. They are removed after an hour or two. The process is repeated depending upon the patient’s tooth discoloration. There is a new procedure wherein the agent is directly applied to the teeth without using any trays. It can be completed in just a sitting within 30-45 minutes.

There is another technique, which can be carried out at home. Individual trays are made and are loaded with the necessary chemicals. They are inserted into the mouth and are retained for about 6-8 hours and are removed later. It requires almost 15-20 days to show results. But after this procedure you may experience slight gum irritation and teeth sensitivity. But the results of this procedure are really promising. It is better if the same procedure is carried out in the dentist’s office as the dentist has the required knowledge.

When they sand the glue off your teeth after braces?

After you get your braces off, I%26#039;m reading that a lot of people on here who%26#039;ve had braces said the dentist scrapes and sands off the cement glue. I%26#039;m sorry, but doesn%26#039;t that also scrape off any remaining enamel you might still have left on your teeth? I don%26#039;t think my teeth can handle that. They%26#039;re weak enough as it is.

When they sand the glue off your teeth after braces?
This is actually a very good question. When the remaining bonding needs to be removed from the teeth, it is important that in grinding off the material, that enamel is not removed. There is a different texture and color to the bonding compared to enamel. I keep the area dry and the bonding will have a frosted appearance and is porous. Just like when your teeth are scaled and tartar removed, we can feel the difference in a material that is not tooth substance.

The teeth should not be %26quot;soft%26quot; and the enamel should be fine and undamaged underneath the bonding. The only time there is an issue is if oral hygiene has been poor and the teeth are decalcified. Then there are actually soft spots on the enamel, because the teeth have begun to decay. Sometimes, then, a bit of enamel is removed with the bonding or else some bonding is left behind until the teeth have remineralized a bit.

Your teeth should not be weak. They will feel loose though when the bonding is being removed. It is a weird feeling. I try to hold onto the tooth to stabilize it while removing bonding so that it doesn%26#039;t feel so loose.

That is why you need retainers afterwards, because they actually are still loose.
Reply:Well, he does get the glue off... but only that. It is perfectly fine, and may actually make your teeth smoother! Getting your braces off doesn%26#039;t really hurt, but it does make your mouth sort of cold. If you%26#039;re worried about your teeth, you can talk to your orthodontist, and ask him to be careful! Good luck!
Reply:Nope just the glue. It%26#039;s annoying when they do it but they are just taking of the cement.

How do you whiten teeth with braces?

Is there any way to help whiten teeth when you have braces? Maybe some really really good toothpastes or any other unique things? help! :)

How do you whiten teeth with braces?
Yes, just rely somehow on over the counter products. Hopefully your dentist won%26#039;t let you have any products. Do you know how silly your teeth will look after you have braces? Sure, you%26#039;d have beautiful straight teeth, but you%26#039;d have dull colored squares in the middle of each tooth. You%26#039;d regret it if you did something extreme. Best of luck!
Reply:Stop drinking soda and coffee. Your teeth will gradually turn back to their natural color.
Reply:Just brush well and floss. I wouldn%26#039;t start any kind of whitening treatment until after your braces come off, because it can damage the glue that hold your braces on your teeth, and also will whiten around the braces, but then when you get them taken off you will have little spots on your teeth that aren%26#039;t as white where the braces were attached.
Reply:I had this problem with braces years ago. You know what is going to happen.

The current color when you had your braces is going to show up when you get your braces off. SO you will see dark squares on your teeth if your teeth are whiter than what you have underneath.

Just use a water pick. That pushes that gunk out.
Reply:I just talked to my dentist about that recently. With conventional braces you cannot whiten because the whitening solution would not get under the braces and you would have two-tone teeth when the braces come off. If you do not already have braces you can have them put on the back of your teeth now instead of the front. That way you could do your whitening with them on.
Reply:I would wait til your braces are off before doing any major whitening treatments. As for now, you should switch to Crest Whitening Expressions toothpaste. They will whiten your teeth naturally. Also, eat more strawberries! They will gradually and subtly whiten your teeth, too. Combined with a good brushing and flossing regimen your teeth should look great! Best of luck!
Reply:You shouldn%26#039;t whiten your teeth with braces. If anything, just use a good toothpaste and mouth wash to keep your teeth from turning and mostly to prevent cavities. Brush every day (you should brush 3 times; I never did and my teeth are white even after I got my braces off yesterday, but others are not so lucky). If you want, you can whiten your teeth after you get your braces off.

How to brush ur teeth with braces?

how to brush ur teeth with braces just wanna know cause am geting some

How to brush ur teeth with braces?
I actually just got my braces yesterday, and let me tell you, i had that speech for a while. My orthodontist told me to make sure i brush right next to your gums, near your 12 year molars, and in the inside of your teeth. It%26#039;s also really important to floss your teeth, (your ortho will show u how) hope this helps!
Reply:Brush often and rinse alot
Reply:brush with water then brush with toothpaste for some time :) normal brushing lol
Reply:Coming from someone who%26#039;s had braces, they will tell you at the orthodontist how to maintain your teeth while you have them. So, don%26#039;t worry about it too much right now. But, pretty much you brush like normal but you have to buy this special little gadget that looks like a little hook with a brush at the end of it that you stick behind the braces and brush each individual tooth with also. That%26#039;s to make sure you got all the gunk out. Because when you have braces, everything you eat gets stuck in them. Also, you buy this gadget that looks like a plastic loop to thread the dental floss with to be able to get it behind the braces and in between your teeth. They also recommend that you rinse with fluoride rinse every day. It sounds worse than it is. I had braces for 2 years and got used to it after a while. My teeth had no cavities and were much whiter after I got my braces removed than before I got them. So good oral hygiene makes all the difference! Good luck.

How do u whiten teeth w/ braces on???

how do u whiten teeth w/ braces on???

How do u whiten teeth w/ braces on???
Unfortunately you cannot whiten with braces on. The whitening agent will not be able to get under where the brackets have been cemented onto the teeth. If you do use a product you run the risk of have different colored rectangles on the center of your teeth when the brackets are removed. Once you braces are removed have your teeth cleaned and then whiten them. Sorry I don%26#039;t have any other options for you!

JAMRDH - a dental hygienist
Reply:you brush them, duh
Reply:you dont
Reply:Don%26#039;t with the braces on. Wait until they are off. Why? The brackets are in the way, which would be like painting the walls white around the picture on the wall. Wait, until they are off, to consider brightening up the teeth.
Reply:I wouldn%26#039;t do that. You%26#039;re likely to have etching where the braces are that you may not be able to match up later. Basically, you%26#039;d have whiter teeth around your braces, and when they take the braces off, you%26#039;ll be able to %26quot;see%26quot; where the braces were, because it will literally be a different color. Wait until after the braces come off, then you can do them evenly and all at once.
Reply:You can%26#039;t because after you take off your braces you will have different shades on your teeth.

How can I straighten my teeth without braces?
If money is not an issue what about veneers. They are painless but expensive.
Reply:have your teeth pulled out and replaced with dentures
Reply:well there are clear %26quot;invisble%26quot; braces now days....
Reply:how about invisalign, its a clear retainer looking tray that gets replaced like every month till your teeth are straight, you cannot have an overbite though, just crooked teeth or gaps.
Reply:get them all crowned, they file away ur current teeth and cap them with new straight crowns - what most celebrities get done.
Reply:the first answer is the best replacement instead of braces

i agree
Reply:well no way around it dude. Braces is the way to go.
Reply:invisaligh though they cost like 5 grands or more
Reply:Dentures, Bro!
Reply:if your teeth are not all that bad you can wear a clear mouth piece and it will gradually straighten your teeth. If your teeth are really bad then I would get the braces.
Reply:Why are you so against braces?
Reply:you cant straighten them any other way. if the crowding and bite are not too severe, veneers may be the way to go. see your dentist, they can take impressions of your teeth and do a %26quot;wax up%26quot; on the models to show you what can be done, this could cost about 200 dollars. some dentists in larger cities are doing a %26quot;snap on smile%26quot; I would not recommend this, they lead to severe decay and other problems. braces arent that bad. I had them in high school and did not wear my retainers, got my wisdom teeth and wore braces again in dental school.
Reply:braces are needed man sorry unless u get a special type of retainers that u can take in and out but normallly u need braces first it sucks soooner u get them in the better

Who is telling you that the only reason that you can%26#039;t model is because of your teeth? Make sure it%26#039;s not some fly by night talent scout.

My point is don%26#039;t fix your smile to model, fix it for yourself!

If you get the cuspid removed, it%26#039;s not going to be like a wisdom tooth. Not that difficult. Talk to a good oral surgeon. Seems like it would be easier to yank it out and put an implant in.

Good luck!!!
Reply:if you want it FAST!

spend thousands on private dental treatment.
Reply:You should ask a dentist... It looks like you do need braces but I know they are expensive.
Reply:I know you%26#039;re not going to like my answer. I know it%26#039;s a hard descision and I know that it%26#039;ll be rough, but I think it would be benificial to you in MANY different ways if you got braces. I was in braces for 2 years and 3 months (longer than most typical orthodontic treatments), and I, like you, didn%26#039;t think my case was %26quot;that bad%26quot;. I had a small gap inbetween my two front teeth which I believed could simply be fixed with some bonding. What I learned from sitting in that orthodontist%26#039;s chair for so long is that there are a lot of different attributes to orthodontic treatment. Besides the cuspid, your have a deep bite, and your midline is off. Your teeth aren%26#039;t properly aligned either although they are spaced correctly. If I were you, I%26#039;d get the braces, maybe Invisalign (most insurance plans cover Invisalign!). I know it%26#039;s hard to look past the next year or two you%26#039;d be in braces, but in the long run, it%26#039;s worth it, and it%26#039;s not the half-assed alternative of getting an implant. I think you should be proud of your smile. At the end of the day, it%26#039;s up to you, but I really feel that you%26#039;d benefit from braces. Your dreams to model will get you through the next few years that you%26#039;d be in braces, and you%26#039;ll be as beautiful as ever when they come off (if you get them). Good luck with whatever you choose!
Reply:I worked as dental asst. 25 yrs aslo we did braces.cusids take the longest to move cause they have the longest roots. In my opinion your are not in too bad of shape but cant see the whole pic. the cuspid need to come down obvistly and without the room it%26#039;s going to take a long time from where it sits. No dentist will remove that tooth and put implant for it is the most important tooth in the mouth .It is your guidence tooth. They would however remove the one behind it for space but would be too much.without removing the otherside would not look right and poss would need to remove the bottom ones or the possibly will not mesh together properly.It%26#039;s kinda complicated and will take tomany pages to explain so you would understand the bites function.Unfortunitly braces are a must.Possibly cuspid to cuspid with placing crowns and veneers would be your only other option without braces.VERY expensive compaired to braces and not a good choice for you. Your teeth are very pretty and you would be unnessarly removing good tooth structure that you will regret later as an adult they would need to be replaced due to color and receding gums and eating habits will be a must to change for the things you bite into. Crowns and veneers are strong but not like healthy teeth. They have tooth colored colored braces and wires that make them near invisible just for the paticular reason you do not want.Because just from what i can see which I can%26#039;t see really. But your bite does not look bad just the cuspid needs to come down and back..Proubly where them 12-18 mos.whick goes fast really. To not extract they would make space inbetweenyour upper teethbicuspid to bicuspid a little each time for not to mack too much space.Do not freakout and do unrational procedures to your teeth .You need to keep what nature gave you!! If your pinky fingure had a little bend and did not look perfect, would you go to the doctor have him cut your arm off and give you fake one just so your fingers would match??? Because once you remove it it doesnt grow back so you dont get a new one you will be screwed when down the road you wished you you would of had the simple surgeryto straighten out your fingure and where the cast for 6 mos to a year. You need your teeth they are more important then any body part.Body parts do not keep you healthy. Your teeth are an important part of you health you need them to chew your food properly for your body to digest.and they make you feel good about yourself big part of your health. You have the rest of your life to beautify yourself and they have been there this long use the next year and a half straighten as you go !! Hope I helped !! Good luck !
Reply:Suck it up and get the braces.

If you just have to pull down the canine into position and line up the other teeth to make them perfect you may be a lot quicker than you think doing braces.

By extracting the canine, you are going to lose bone around that tooth and that %26#039;s not healthy for your upper jaw and appearance. Besides an implant will take about 6 months to heal before you can get it restored and then the appearance may not be what you anticipated.

Do it right and then go on to have a great modeling career!

And please stop writing on your a**.

How do you whiten your teeth with braces?

I have braces, and theres nothing wrong withmy teeth, but I want them to be really really white. How do I do that if I have braces on?

How do you whiten your teeth with braces?
I%26#039;d be careful because if you whiten your teeth with braces on then when the braces get taken off your layer which was not covered by a bracket will be darker then the part which was lightened.

Toothpaste would do fine though. Just to answer your question.
Reply:Braces make your teeth more vulnerable-I wouldn%26#039;t do anything without talking to your dentist.
Reply:wai tuntil u get them off or else each tooth will be two different shades
Reply:You don%26#039;t. Depending on the type of braces you might end up with patchy spots.
Reply:The best options right now are a white rinse, from Colgate or another brand...also try wetting your toothbrush with proxide and put some toohpaste and baking soda on it and brush....the toothpaste helps cut the taste.

I%26#039;m a smoker, coffee, red wine drinker and have used only proxide and baking soda for years....my dentist didn%26#039;t even know that I did the three above.....
Reply:Never try to whiten your tooth with braces.

Eventually, the chemicals and everything else could loosen the brackets, or wear away the wires... and it could cause your mouth to be in pain.

I wouldnt do it...

Also... your teeth will be different colors because the whitener cannot get under the cement. i just wouldn%26#039;t do it =P

Reply:Don%26#039;t whiten them until your braces are off or else you%26#039;re going to get a really uneven whitening of your teeth. If you whiten them now, you%26#039;ll be left with %26quot;train tracks%26quot; on the spots where your braces occupied.

You should also give your teeth some time to adjust after taking them off. I%26#039;d say wait about a month after you get them off and, if you still want to whiten them, get them done by a dentist or someone who knows what they%26#039;re doing since whitening teeth that just went through the process of braces isn%26#039;t the same as whitening teeth of uniform color.

I don%26#039;t think there are natural ways to straighten your teeth but If you don%26#039;t want to get braces because of the look you should get invisalign.
Reply:There aren%26#039;t any.
Reply:string and a door ...
Reply:i dont think there is another way really.

well besides surgery, that is.
Reply:in my home land we would eat cane that what you get your sugar from
Reply:I have no idea. I%26#039;ve never heard of a natural way. If you can%26#039;t afford braces; there are programs that can help you. Look in to it.
Reply:Invalign or similar products. It%26#039;s not really natural, because it%26#039;s a product. But its a series of retainers that will shape your teeth.
Reply:Beware of non-professional methods. Even if you do succeed, your teeth could return to their previous position. I saw it happen.
Reply:new orthodontic appliance called visilign. Clear gum shield similar to a bleaching tray that are changed frequenlty to slowly move teeth without the need for wires and are completley removable. Expensive though approx £5000
Reply:I dont know of another way...but braces arent that bad...unless its a financial issue.
Reply:th3r3 isnt a natural way..

but yo can g3t som3thing call3d invisalign..

How do I remove stained yellow teeth with braces?

I want to get rid of the yellow stains I have on my teeth but I have braces.. and I heard it is a bad idea to do.. What can I do that will get under the brackets? so that I will be left with no mark and have white teeth even with braces.. i dont really wanan wait till they come off :(

How do I remove stained yellow teeth with braces?
Go have them bleachd.....250.00.....
Reply:dentist and they will clean them.
Reply:floss. i have braces and its a problem. floss and floss and floss
Reply:You just might have to wait, that%26#039;s what I had to do!
Reply:Visit your dentist. The yellowish part usually is the bonding or the cement underneath your braces stained oby the food you ate. Only the dentist can remove it. Attempting to remove it yourself might dislodge or remove the brackets causing more problems.
Reply:try a mix of baking power and peroxide 2 times a day. make a paste then brush with it. it works. good luck.
Reply:You may want to wait even though you don%26#039;t want to. I dont%26#039; think you can find anything to go under the brackets. They are %26quot;glued%26quot; to your teeth and penetrating the glue will disrupt the brackets.

Otherwise, if you find a way to get them white, the yellow will remain under the brackets and you will have small yellow spots you your teeth when the braces are removed.

If you wait until they come off, then you will be able to get the entire tooth clean.

Unusual jiggling of teeth with braces?

I have noticed this weird movement a couple of days ago when I looked into the mirror and bit down to brush my teeth. My left central and lateral incisors of the upper arch move up toward the gums whenever I bite. Also, applying pressure with just my finger moves them up. Is this normal? I%26#039;ve had braces for only a month, and I don%26#039;t really know much about what really is going on in my mouth.

Unusual jiggling of teeth with braces?
Yes, it%26#039;s definitely normal because the braces are working to make your teeth mobile (able to move) so they can be moved into the desired position.
Reply:Don%26#039;t worry about it - it just proves that your teeth are moving, which IS the function of braces :)

And, if you are new to braces and want or need to know more about orthodontics, I%26#039;d advise you to go to this page and search for answers

iwant to get my teeth some braces becit is not aligned ryt..but do they put some holes on your teeth or some silly things???does it hurt..and will it bring a better SMLE??i hope so00..plssanswers..my dentist said i need to get it bec my teeth s0oo silly..and i want too..BUT IM AFRAID FOR THE HURT!!!my ffriendss said it will hurt for the 1st week..im just 12yrs old though..plss answer!!:)

I WAnt to get some braces to make my teeth prettier..does it hurt!?!!?
dude u get spacers in before the braces, you generally have them for about 8 days or so....7 of which it hurts to eat things then like magic on the 8th day you feel nothing when you eat GREAT TIMING HUH!!!!, lol, then you get the braces and you dont feel them for like the first 4-6 hours then theres pain, and like the spacers it they hurt for roughly 5-10 days afterword, then you get used to them and the pain goes away, best advice SLEEEPPPPPPPP becasue ur body adjusts more during sleep so the more you sleep during that time the fewer days of pain youll have!! at least that was my experience then again i also had tylenol 3 w/codeine from when i broke my wrist that i didnt use then but i used when i got my braces but yeah thats about it.......getum its SOOOOOOO worth it =)
Reply:It only hurts for a little while and the effects are well worth it... I had braces as an adult and wish I had them back when I was a kid so it wouldn%26#039;t have been so hard on me (teeth already permanently in place). So yes, it will hurt for a bit but not as much as you probably think it will.
Reply:My son had braces, he said it was a little raw the first week, but after that he was used to them.

He has a beautiful smile. Yours will be too, tell mom to check out the new invisable braces.
Reply:It wont hurt the way you are thinking. You will feel more sore than anything. Nothing to worry about.

Talk to your dentist about getting the clear braces that fit over your teeth. you switch them out every 2 weeks or so with a different shaped pair.

Not only are they clear and look much better, but your teeth are moved gradually, giving you even less discomfort.

insurance might not cover it though, check into it.
Reply:No it won%26#039;t leave any permanent marks or holes as long as you don%26#039;t use whitening tooth-paste while you have them, or else you will have discolored teeth. Yes, it does hurt for about 2 weeks after you get them, just eat soup or stuff that is very soft until the pain goes away. Unfortunately it will also hurt for a few days after every time you get them tightened. I went through all of this pain in worry but in the end it was all worth it.
Reply:No, having braces isn%26#039;t painful, but on the monthly adjustments they are quit sore. You can help rid the soreness by getting a soft bristle toothbrush and use it only to massage the gums in a circular motion. It speeds up the blood circulation and eases the soreness alot. You%26#039;ll have a gorgeous smile after you have completed all the treatments. Always brush and floss. Flossing is more important than brush weather you have braces or not. Good Luck!

PS: You%26#039;ll smile all the time too and it gives you confidence.
Reply:well what your friends have said are right it will hurt for about a week or so depending on how bad your teeth are.
Reply:they will be sore, but not actually hurt. then during the time you are wearing the braces, it will depend on how your dentist adjusts them during your check ups. get the braces.. you%26#039;ll be glad you did!!!
Reply:It would hurt, no doubt. But to look pretty when you reach your teen is more important than anything, right? Just that thought alone would get you going.
Reply:It does hurt, but sometimes it doesn%26#039;t. The first time you get them, it will hurt for the first couple days. I got my braces when I was 10. I was scared too but now I realize that it was so worth it. My teeth drastically changed. When you get it tightened monthly it kind of hurts for a day too if they tighten it a lot. But you can always take painkillers like Advil.
Reply:They hurt like HELL! You have NO idea. OMG! Your whole mouth will hurt. The wires will most likely dig into you at some point and its horrible.
Reply:hi!!

i just wear braces a month ago..its hurt the first day i wear it...and i%26#039;m having difficulties in eating for the first week...but then i%26#039;m getting used to it...its not going to hurt much... don%26#039;t worry...daijoubu

Is there a way to straighten teeth without braces?

My teeth are pretty good, my dentist says I do not need braces. But when I look at them, I dont like them. There are some that aren%26#039;t really straight and some stick out a very little bit. I also have an overbite. I want my teeth to be perfectly even, straight, and no overbite. How can I do this without getting braces?

Is there a way to straighten teeth without braces?
invisalign.

http://www.invisalign.com/generalapp/us/...

they work soooo well for straight teeth, but don%26#039;t do a whole lot to fix the overbite... but you know, if your overbite isn%26#039;t a medical concern, embrace it! your smile is what makes you you!
Reply:I%26#039;ve heard that veneers are often used to fix minor problems. They can be used to close gaps between teeth and to make them look more even and straight.
Reply:W/O BACES...

WON%26#039;T HAPPEN
Reply:SORRY BUT NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Reply:Cosmetic contouring can be used to improve the appearance of teeth. It is ideal if you have slightly crowded teeth. It takes about one hour and is less expensive than other forms of cosmetic treatment. It is not recommended for young children.

Or you can try veneers...

Normal over bite is 2- 3mm,that is the overlapping of upper tooth on lower

Can you have teeth surgery instead of traintracks or braces?
yer you can look around on a search engin, ie google
Reply:No unfortunately they have to move your teeth slowly or it will break the jaw.
Reply:No such surgical option for that. It just takes time. At least you now have the option for things like the Invisalign instead of just the old metal ones.

A question about my teeth for braces/expander?
ok

i have the same problem and i am 16 my upper jaw is smaller then the lower jaw so they are trying to makethe upper few or expand it so it can be with the same level as the lower jaw ... first they wil put expandors between ur teeth little rubbers which doesn%26#039;t hurt but you feel pressure and can%26#039;t really eat anything sold for like 2 days. .. also the orthodontist might put expandors on ur teeth which is different in every case ...

Reply:You can have all your natural teeth replaced with crowns, but you%26#039;re talking about at least a thousand dollars per tooth.

How to help sore teeth from braces?

How to help sore teeth from braces?

I just got braces today. They didn%26#039;t hurt when I got them on, but a couple hours later, they hurt soooooooooooooooo bad! My mom gave me some Tynol, but it doesn%26#039;t seem to be helping! thanks in advance!

How to help sore teeth from braces?
Noooo Not Tylenol. Im surprised they didn%26#039;t tell you that the ONLY thing that works for mouth pain is Ibuprofen such as in Advil. It is the only thing!! I am out of braces and my son is currently in them and I promise it works. Get some Advil. And wear the wax so the insides of your mouth don%26#039;t shred up for the first week or so til your mouth gets used to the braces.

It%26#039;s all worth it in the end, your teeth will be so pretty. Good luck!! Now go get some ADVIL!!
Reply:Very good, and you%26#039;re welcome. I%26#039;m glad that worked! Report It

Reply:I think it%26#039;s called %26quot;Anbesol.%26quot; It is a topical anesthetic for your mouth. Works great! Just rub it on your gums to alleviate all pain for an hour or two.
Reply:vicodin

oxycontin

nubane

percacet

heroin

booze
Reply:drink lots and lots of milkshakes mmmmmmmm
Reply:What did the orthodontist say to do for the discomfort? Maybe you could try some of that medicine that they put on baby%26#039;s gums when they are teething.
Reply:Your orthodontist should be able to tell you what to do to ease the pain.

Try popsicles or drinking ice water. Don%26#039;t crunch on the ice. It%26#039;ll only hurt more.

All medicines take about 20 minutes or more to kick in so give the Tylenol that time if you haven%26#039;t.

You could try Aleve instead of Tylenol but you need to wait a few hours before trying another medicine.

Anbesol maybe since that%26#039;s topical.
Reply:Tough it out, as mean as that sounds! I%26#039;ve gotten braces put on and I know it hurts, but it also hurts just as bad when they tighten them! Try eating soft foods like soup! Good luck!
Reply:well try some more tynol and if that doesn%26#039;t work try some cough medicine because when you spray it on your throat it numes it so spray away
Reply:Honey, I know how you feel. (Braces 2 1/2 years) Take some Motrin (Ibuprofen)(when the Tylenol wears off... you do NOT want to take too much pain medicine) , especially before you go to bed tonight. Give it a few days, you%26#039;ll get used to them.
Reply:get some flavored teething gel mothers buy when their babies are cutting their first teeth
Reply:When I got my braces I used Anbesol..........it numbs your gums but it doesn%26#039;t last as long as you would probably want it to. Don%26#039;t worry it won%26#039;t last that long...........and beware because it may numb your tongue and it feels wierd.
Reply:I to have braces and had just got them tightend and my teeth are very sore you can use wax for places that are poking their is a type of special floss that you can use or is you are always in a hurry their are floss handles i hope this helps
Reply:I have to say the best thing that helped me was eating steak. I know it will hurt when you are actually eating it, but after it will feel so much better because you have gotten your teeth used to the pain. But other things that help are ice cold water, popsciles, and milkshakes. I know it hurts now, but with just a little pain you will have great teeth afterwards.

p.s. make sure you have a little asprin right before you go get them tightened ever.

hope this helps!
Reply:a bottle of vicoden and a fifth of jim beam
Reply:i used aleve or advil when i had my braces on, they are anti-inflammatorys and are much more effective for the type of pain you are receiving. i used to take it right before i%26#039;d go to the orthodontist each month as well, to get a head start before the pain really kicks in. ask your mom to look into this for you. it DOES get better as time goes on...

Any way to straighten teeth without braces or surgery?

I had braces when I was younger, and my teeth turned out great. Now my wisdom teeth came in the back and screwed them all up again... Are there any nightly worn retainers that straighten em out?? Thanks.

Any way to straighten teeth without braces or surgery?
Try Invisalign, you dont even notice them and you could probably just wear them at nights, and when you at home.
Reply:retainers that slowly form your teeth back. ask youe dentist or orthodotist
Reply:why not see a dentist for a consultation and get a couple free professional opinions. i doubt anyone on yahoo is going to be able to give you the right answer / without seeing your mouth / x rays, etc.
Reply:get your wisdom teeth pulled, then ask the dentist about a retainer. I%26#039;m surprised the orthodontist didnt%26#039; remove them before he put on your braces, most of them do.
Reply:http://www.invisalign.com/generalapp/us/...
Reply:My mom had these plastic inserts that look like mouth guards. They had to be changed every so often as her teeth moved but it prevented her from having %26quot;brace face%26quot;. She did wear them all the time except when eating. You have to be diligent about keeping them in and getting the new ones but her teeth look fantastic and she had VERY bad alignment prior. I don%26#039;t recall what they are called but most orthodontists should know about them. Good luck.
Reply:invisaline...ask your dentist about them.

If I use a mouthwash that whitens teeth with braces on, will I end up with stains when they come off?

I have this mouthwash that you use and then brush your teeth after you spit it out (I think the brand is Listerine but I don%26#039;t remember exactly) and it whitens your teeth. I have braces too, and I was wondering if it would also whiten the part that the braces cover (the mouthwash is liquid) or if I would end up with darker stains when my braces get removed. Thanks.

If I use a mouthwash that whitens teeth with braces on, will I end up with stains when they come off?
When you get the braces off, the cement gets drilled off as well, so you should be ok. Once they do that, your teeth get polished so any uneven coloring should be taken care of.
Reply:My daughter did, but the dentist was able to clean it off...
Reply:Probaby not becaus mouth wash can go under the braces.. but it might leave a small %26quot;tanline%26quot; on your teeth
Reply:I didnt have stains after they were taken out.nothing happens when you use whitener.
Reply:No, I just got my braces off recently, and after doing that everyday with the mouthwash, there was evenly white around my teeth. I guess that only happens to people that had really yellow(eww gross) teeth before. Braces are a pain huh? lol

-sesballer-
Reply:yes u probaly will cause i done that **** before
Reply:I have braces too and my dentist told me it might leave marks if i don%26#039;t brush and floss normally. Also told me just to make sure i must use mouthwash, floss and brush my teeth for 3 mins 3 times a day and after eating just rinse my mouth to stop the acids in your saliva from eroding my braces.(the 3 mins and 3 times a day is just brushing and flossing if u need to.So in other words it might but if you brush properly it shouldn%26#039;t.
Reply:yes, but the ortho will whiten the teeth afterwards

its easier to get spots of brown versues a whole brown mouth lol
Reply:it might leave a tan line

Is there any way to straighten teeth without braces (or invisalign)?

I will not get braces and I will not get invisalign because (1) My parents wouldn%26#039;t pay for it and (2) I only have about 4 or 5 misaligned teeth. Please help me, I want straight teeth!

Is there any way to straighten teeth without braces (or invisalign)?
I%26#039;d say surgery but it%26#039;s more expensive than invisalign so I doubt your parents will pay for that. I think there%26#039;s night teeth shifters or something...not sure but maybe check out target or walmart
Reply:you can have all your teeth pulled and have dentures
Reply:HI. The answer is No.
Reply:you can never have it straightened out if there is no money to use up so dont bother, because if you want to be beautiful outside, it talks about money and A HELL OF MONEY,DARNIT!
Reply:A good whack in the mouth might do it. Think about it. If there was an easier or better way to do it the world would know about it. People would not go through the pain and expense of braces if there was another way that worked.
Reply:well if you have seen those extreme makeover shows, you can also try to have porcelein verniers, da vinci verniers or whatever kind of tooth covering to slightly correct misalighted teeth. i mean the changes wont be huge but at least you will have a movie star smile with it.
Reply:Yes--the dentist can give you spacers.
Reply:try and push with your thumbs everyday maybe u%26#039;ll notice some changes.

Is there any way to fix teeth without braces?

I%26#039;ve had misaligned teeth for all my life and it is time to fix... but I don%26#039;t want to have braces. Is there anything out there that they can fix my teeth? like braces for sleeping only? or clear cover braces at night?

Does anyone have experience ???

Is there any way to fix teeth without braces?
You can use a product called Invisalign. They are clear acrylic adjusters that you have to wear 22 hours a day (except when eating and brushing) but they are hardly noticeable and work great if you follow the directions explicitly.
Reply:There are these clear strips that you put on you teeth, and change it every once and awhile. Don%26#039;t worry they don%26#039;t hurt. It%26#039;s like putting Listerine strips on but it doesn%26#039;t sting. You don%26#039;t even notice them and can wear them at night.
Reply:there%26#039;s a technique in dental cosmetic surgery where they remove all your teeth and fix them back again in their proper places and alignment...but you better gather a lot of pocket money if you want to take it.
Reply:there are clear trays you wear at night and 3every 2 weeks i believe you get a new one it the alin your teeth its called invisalign
Reply:there%26#039;s a product called invisalign. it%26#039;s a clear plastic tray you wear over your teeth. you have to wear it most of the time for it to work properly but you can remove anytime you need to.

If I forget to brush my teeth (with braces) for 2 days is that bad?

I was at my friends house all weekend and forgot my braces kit:| so i didnt brush or floss my teeth ALL WEEKEND. Is that really bad? What can i do to make up for it? And I havent been flossing since i got my braces on because it takes soooooo long. and i hate doing it. Am i going to have ugly teeth when i get my braces off? please helppp:

If I forget to brush my teeth (with braces) for 2 days is that bad?
|You need to brush and floss daily. If you don%26#039;t plaque can cause decalcification. See here:http://www.staggersorthodontics.com/imag...

do you want your nice straight teeth to look like that?
Reply:Simply, the best results will occur when you follow the necessary hygiene under any conditions.
Reply:It%26#039;s always bad to forget to brush your teeth. And with braces, your breath will probably wind up smelling REALLY bad. Be sure to always brush. Couldn%26#039;t hurt to use Listerine, too. It will help wash and kill bacteria in and around the braces.
Reply:Dont trip !!! When you get home brush and floss your teeth!!!

Nuthing will happen!!!
Reply:Iv done that, because they were tightened and it hurt every time i tried brushing so i gave up. but i don%26#039;t think it will be bad. just use teeth whitener that%26#039;s all. and yes it does take a long time to floss do to braces in your mouth.

GREAT LUCK
Reply:Your teeth aren%26#039;t going to fall out or anything after just two days but, I bet your breath was rank! Make sure you start flossing EVERY day, it prevents gum disease and keeps your mouth healthy!!
Reply:You have to look at your teeth and the braces as an investment that you need to care for. If you don%26#039;t care for your teeth properly, you may have white stains on your teeth when the braces come off. These stains are the beginning of cavities, they don%26#039;t polish off and you can%26#039;t bleach them out.

Try Superfloss. It%26#039;s stiff on the ends so that you just have to poke it in between your teeth (no threading it through your wire or using a bridge threader)

You might check into getting a prescription toothpaste with extra fluoride to strengthen your teeth. Control Rx is a good one to use.

Next time, go to the store and buy a toothbrush.
