I have braces on my teeth from last three years.From last one year my dentist is saying that it will be removed within next six month.But no results.Now he is saying that my case is complicated.In beginnig he said that my treatment duration would be around 2 n half years.Please suggest ,should i go for another dentist.

get a second opinion. I have braces, adn the first dentist i went to (just a consult before they were put on) said i would have to have braces for a year and a half, jaw surgery, and then braces for another 2 years. I thought that seemed kind of long, so i went to another dentist and he said i would have to have braces for a year, the surgery,and then probably 8 months of braces after.
ps.its really important to keep your teeth clean!
Reply:I only had mine for 18 months but I've heard people who've had them for 5 years. He should have seen your case a being difficult fron the start. Have you been doing everything he tells you to - exactly how and when and for how long - If you have, I would go to another dentist and get a second opinion.
Reply:I had braces for 7 years. It really depends on how crooked your teeth are. I had to have 4 permanent teeth pulled, a palatal expander, surgery to uncover a tooth and pull it into place, AND wear a hawley bow retainer. And I still got root resorbtion from my teeth moving too fast.
