I am 20 almost 21 and need braces, teeth r mildly crooked, how long might I have to wear them? cost?

Full price....braces will run you about $5000. Insurance will help but if you don't have it then I would recommend getting a discount card before you start the process of getting the braces.

It will cost you $11.95 a month and will save over half....bill would be around $2200 depending on where you are located and how much dentists charge in your area.....this price quote is for the Kansas City, MO area.

Good luck!

Here is the link for the discount...

If teeth are only mildly crooked check out this site

Reply:Two things will determine the cost, primarily: first is, insurance. Second is, type of alignment device you will use.

Invisalign (or a newer variant known as red white and blue) is more expensive than the standard-issue metal braces, and usually insurance will not cover those. Invisalign and RWB also take longer to achieve final effect of straight teeth.

Metal braces will work faster and be a bit cheaper.

Insurance usually will not cover invisalign or RWB at all, however you might get a little payment for regular braces. However since you are over 18, you will likely not get very much coverage since most insurance companies will consider braces to be cosmetic for adults.

I have metal braces. They cost $6000, which includes the hardware and the labor by orthodontist and his assistants in maintaining the braces. Your price may vary but this seems to be the going rate these days. The cost doesn't usually change if you have a shorter duration of treatment because the hardware still costs, but ask your orthodontist and see.

Good luck.
Reply:In response to someone who mentioned invisalign, you have to be a candidate and only an orthodontist will be able to tell you that along with how long you will be in braces. No one on this site can tell you that information because your teeth have to be examined. Some people only stay in braces 6 months and others 3 years. I just got braces yesterday and I will be wearing them for the next 2 years and they are costing me $6000.. On average in the US, braces cost between $3000-$7000. This also depends on what type of braces (ceramic, metal, lingual, invisalign) you get. Check out a few orthodontists in your area since prices and treatment options may vary. Most orthodontists offer consultations for little to no fee. Let me know if I can be of further help. I wish you the best of luck.
