How young is too young for children to get braces(on their teeth)?

After my son lost his two front teeth, they have grown in very crooked. I know he will have to get braceS eventually. What's the earliest age I can have them put on and what would be one of the "better" types(invisaline, metal, clear, etc). I should also let you know that he is 7 and has lost most if not all of his baby teeth with the exception of his molars and has not grown any "wisdom teeth" as of yet. I don't thimk our insurance(hoosier health), would cover them(the braces), so we would have to probally pay payments.

Thank~ you so much for your input.

My daughter's front teeth came back in crooked as well I had the same problem however she has not lost all of her baby teeth yet but when i spoke to her dentist about it she told me just last month and my daughter is 8 that the best time would be after all the baby teeth have fallen out but unless you know for sure they are all out and the permanent ones are there and have taken their position in others words if you have taken him to the dentist

and everything is up to par such as cavities filled, etc then take him to an orthodontist and most go in btw the ages of 8 and 9 i would go with metal they are cheaper than clear since you would probably have to pay out of pocket but if you live in north carolina call 1-800-4BRACES and they will hook you up with a ortho and set up arrangements
Reply:when all their second teeth are thru ,about 11years,wisdom teeth do not count as they do not come thru until 18 to 21
Reply:Call a childens orthodontist. My kids each had them on at 10. Make a cursery examination appointment, they may do them earlier now.

.

Wisdom teeth come in after about 18 years of age.

Most orthodontists take a down payment and then monthly payments. My daughters were only $1500. but our sons were $4500.00. Hers took about three years. and His were 6 years but he had major mouth changes to be made.

Good Luck.
Reply:He can see a ortho rigth away, the doctor will examine and give you a diagnostic about his teeth.

He may decide to wait a couple of years or do it now, just talk to a specialist is the best you can do.
Reply:Call a children's dentist. they specilaize in children's teeth. Actually, he should have seen a children's dentist long before 7. If he had your child would not have crooked teeth now. In the long run it save money to take them when they are young. Children dentist are wonderful with colorful chairs and special techinics of kids. Most dentist have a payment plan.
